Denise R. Chachere, SPHR, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Computer Science from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. She completed her Master’s degree and doctoral course work in Labor Relations and Human Resource Management at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. She has taught courses at all levels (currently at Saint Louis University John Cook School of Business, www.slu.edu) in management, statistics, human resource management, employment law, collective bargaining and labor economics. Her research and publications focused on dispute resolution issues for union and nonunion employees and other strategic HRM initiatives and their relationship to organizational effectiveness measures. She has also taught an accelerated PHR/SPHR certification review course for SHRM and a Strategic HRM 10-week course for the Human Resource Management Association of Greater St. Louis. Before, during and after various teaching assignments, she has practiced HRM in the private and public sector, at service and manufacturing firms, both for-profit and not-for-profit. Her knowledge of alternative dispute resolution techniques allows her to perform mediation and arbitration for employment and labor cases.
As a hobby, Denise and her father, Claude Rémillard, translated from French and researched the contents of a book written in 1877 by a former nun of the Sacred Heart. The translation was published in 2004. Learn more about Evening Visits With a Sister or The Destiny of a Strand of Moss at www.eveningvisits.com
